April was a graduate from the esteemed Fones School of Dental Hygiene in Connecticut from where she started her career in pediatrics and special needs in New York City. After returning to her home town of Long Beach she has been working in general dentistry in Seal Beach for the past 8 years building relationships with her patients. After the pandemic, April realized a lot of her elderly patients were not returning to the office for their dental cleanings. A lot of them were fearful of germs associated with the dental office or were unable to get rides. Some of them relied on caregivers to get them to appointments, and their dental care was no longer a priority.
April returned to school and became a RDHAP through the University of Pacific’s continuing education program. This allows her to go into the community without a dentist to provide much needed services to those who cannot make it to the dental office. With advanced training in dementia care and special needs, combined with her gentle spirit, she is able to see virtually any patient at any stage of their life.
